Held in August, the event joins Edinburgh’s Festival list. The first Tattoo in Edinburgh was entitled “Something About a Soldier” and took place at the Ross Bandstand at Princes Street Gardens in 1949. Known throughout the world the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, it is televised in 30 countries and a further 100 million people see the event on television worldwide but nothing compares to the sheer spectacle and atmosphere experienced at the live event.
