New Town is quite literally the "new" area of Scotland's capital city of Edinburgh. It is often considered to be a masterpiece of city planning and, together with Old Town, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. The New Town section was built in stages between 1767 and 1850, and retains much of the original neo-classical and Georgian period architecture that make it so striking. Its most famous street is Princes Street, the main thoroughfare of Edinburgh. Home to some of the best shopping and dining in Scotland, Princes Street lies across the geographical depression of the former Nor Loch, and faces both Edinburgh Castle and Old Town. New Town is also home to the National Gallery of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Academy, located on The Mound; The Scottish National Portrait Gallery and The Scottish Malt Whiskey Society, an internationally renowned whiskey club that serves the best whiskeys from around the world, on Queen Street; the Assembly Rooms and many high-end boutiques on George Street; the Balmoral Hotel (formerly called the North British Hotel, after a railway company) with its landmark clock tower above Waverley Station; the Scott Monument; The Dome; and incredible local bars and eateries throughout. IMPORTANT - The lift is, unfortunately, currently only operating until the 3rd floor. This means you will be required to walk up the last flight of stairs. We are working to get it fixed as soon as possible but please keep that in mind when booking the flat. Modern and high-end amenities are found throughout our open-plan living room/dining room/kitchen. A black leather pull-out couch and matching chair sit in front of a stylish glass-top coffee table and a flat-screen HD TV with smart capabilities. The dining area has a contemporary glass table, and the kitchen is fully furnished with an induction hob, combination oven/microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, and dishwasher. The room is finished with hardwood floors, large central sky light, and a washing machine for all of your laundry needs. There are two high quality bathrooms, one en-suite with tub/shower combo, and one off the living room with glass enclosed, stand up shower. Lastly are two bedrooms which offer quality, comfort and privacy during your stay. Sofa Bed Use If you are booking for 5 guests, the sofa bed charge will be automatically included by Airbnb. Just make sure to enter the correct number of guests when booking so we can have the extra linen ready for your stay. Please note, the total price will adjust based on the number of guests. If you are a group of 4 or fewer guests but would like to use the sofa bed, there is an extra charge of £10 per night (minimum £30) to cover the additional linen, laundry, and cleaning. Parking charges are applicable 7 days a week within Zones 1 to 4. Please do check rules and pricing before you park. Other areas of the city may offer free on-street parking, however please do check signs on the street. Evergreen Property will not be held liable for any parking charges incurred. PARKING- If you only need to park your car overnight, St James Quarter offer overnight parking for £5 (17:30~8:30), 6 min walk. If you try to book a slot in advance through the app, full price will be charged for 17:30~8:30.
